Kiara Moore, PhD
Dr. Kiara Moore is a social worker, researcher, and educator inspired by years of working with adolescents and young adults in New York and Los Angeles. She is energized by collaborating with young people and community partners to develop creative ways to prioritize and strengthen identity, equity, hope, and recovery in mental health care for youth who have been marginalized. Kiara is a faculty member at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and a licensed mental health clinician. She has extensive training and experience in mental health services research and participatory strategies for developing interventions with minoritized youth. Her research on improving mental health and services for Black, Latine, and LGBTQIA+ youth during their transition to adulthood is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. Kiara earned her PhD from Columbia University and her MSW from the University of Southern California.
